The Salort Palace in the year 1600 extended towards Palau street from the arch, which indicates the location of that primitive house at the entrance of said street.

Subsequently, the building was extended along Calle Mayor, in the direction of Plaza del Borne.

The house in its current state dates from 1813, built by order of Don Pedro Martorell and Olives.

Its facade is purely neoclassical in style with a precise and controlled composition, with a scheme very similar to the lateral façade of the Lonja de Barcelona built in 1772. The Renaissance-style arcades that overlook Plaza del Borne are slender and gracefully made.
